oland - Irene Betty Kronauer, 91, of Poland, died early Friday morning, February 2, 2018 at The Inn at Poland Way.
Irene was born January 28, 1927 in Monaca, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Howard and Susan Johnson.
Raised in Struthers, Irene graduated from Struthers High School, Class of 1945 and then attended Youngstown Business School. She married John J. Kronauer on June 3, 1950. They made their home on Parkway Drive in Poland.
Irene was a life-long member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Struthers where she served on various committees. She was an active member of the Poland Blue Bells and her card club. She was also an avid bowler and received numerous awards.
John, her loving husband of 50 years, died September 1, 2000. Irene leaves her daughter, Kim (Galen) Seidner of Denver, NC; and her uncle, William Curry of Salem.
In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was preceded in death by her aunt, Eva Curry; and two daughters, Nancy and Karen Kronauer.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church, 250 Sexton St., Struthers, OH 44471 with Rev. Julianne Smith officiating. Interment will be at the Poland Riverside Cemetery followed by a luncheon hosted by Irene's family at the Cunningham-Becker Family Center, 270 N. Main S., Poland, OH 44514.
Friends will be received Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church.
