Poland - Patricia E. Meeker, 81 of Struthers Road, died suddenly on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mrs. Meeker was born April 16, 1929 in Alliance, a daughter of John and Mary Yerian Edwards.
She was a graduate of Sparrows Point High School in Md., and also graduated from Mt. Union College in Maryland, where she recieved a bachelors degree in drafting and a graduated of Youngstown State University where she recieved a bachelors degree in education. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in New Middletown, where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and never missed her grandchildrens' sporting events.
Her husband, Robert E. Meeker, whom she married September 23, 1950, died June 29, 1993.
She is survived by a son, Robert Meeker Jr. of Boston, MA; two daughters, Mary (Chet) Garstka of Du Bois, PA and Nancy Montgomery of Poland; eight grandchildren, Patricia, Mathew, Timothy and Kattie Garstka, Rob III., and Ashley Meeker, Daniel and Bryan Montgomery; six great-grandchildren, Marnie, Noah and Zoe Reynolds, Maddison, Emma and Mikayla Garstka.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Shure.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 10:00 - 10:45 am at the Zion Lutheran Church, 10857 Main Street in New Middletown, where services will be held at 11:00 am. Private interment will follow in the Firestone Cemetery in Columbiana.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland.
