Struthers - Edward F. Zajac, 85, died July 30, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Mr. Zajac was born November 11, 1928 in Struthers, a son of Joseph and Theresa Mraz Zajac.
He was a 1947 graduate of Struthers High School and worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube (LTV) for 35 years.
Edward was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church and was also a member of the Struthers VFW 3538.
He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years the former Lucille Winsen, whom he married May 14, 1955; one daughter, Elaine Calabrette of Struthers; one son, Joseph (Darla) Zajac of Poland; two grandchildren, Joseph and Joshua Calabrette; and one sister, Rosemary Dubos of Campbell.
Besides his parents, Edward was preceded in death by one son, Edward Zajac Jr.; and three sisters, Stella Loboy, Mary Yarnevich, Irene Orenic.
A prayer service will be held Saturday at 9:30AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
