Ernest E. Bowes

Struthers - Ernest Edwin Bowes , 87, died November 21, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Bowes was born April 9, 1927 in Youngstown, a son of Ernest and Sigrid Hogan Bowes.
He was a 1945 Woodrow Wilson High School graduate. Ernest worked at Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 34 years as a Armature Winder. He was a veteran of the United States Army during WWII. Ernest was a handy man who could fix anything and enjoyed working on cars.
His wife Norma, whom he married May 14, 1949, died Feb. 16, 2010.
He is survived by his son, William E. (Marianne) Bowes Sr. of Struthers; one daughter, Elizabeth (Tom) Schomaker of Taylor Mill, KY; four grandchildren, William (Bridget) Bowes Jr., David (Ashley) Bowes, Kevin and Alex Schomaker; four great-grandchildren, Landon, Anna Belle, David Jr., and Bailey; one brother-in-law, Thomas Thomson; and one niece, Barbara Planton.
Besides his wife and parents, Ernest was preceded in death by one sister, Marjorie Thomson; and one brother, Robert Bowes.
Services will be held at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Saturday at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown. Ohio.
Friends and family will be received Saturday 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the funeral home.
