Struthers - Florence R. Eagleton, 75, of Struthers, died early Monday morning, July 27, 2015 at Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House.
Mrs. Eagleton, affectionately known as Flossie, was born April 19, 1940 in Struthers, a daughter of Chester and Frances Rosensteel Shaffer.
A life-long resident of Struthers, Flossie was a graduate of Struthers High School, Class of 1958. Flossie owned and operated the former Flossie Beauty Salon at the former Withers Plaza in Poland for over 20 years. For the last 20 years Flossie owned her own chair at C&L Design Team.
Flossie was an active member of the Faith Community Covenant Church where she served as Church Council Secretary and Deacon. She also volunteered for the church Vacation Bible School and was a member of the Fortress Sunday School Class. Flossie faithfully read her Bible every day and attended a weekly Bible Study Group. She was a former member of the Trias Chapter of Eastern Star.
A voracious reader, Flossie also enjoyed working on puzzles and watching her favorite TV shows, Law and Order, CSI, NCIS, and game shows.
Flossie's husband, George W. Eagleton, whom she married January 21, 1961 died August 1, 1988. She leaves her two children, Pamela R. (Sam) Clawson of Struthers and David C. (Justine Valley) Eagleton of Struthers; daughter-in-law, Heather Ann Eagleton of Neshannock, PA; her aunt, Melda Beers of Cooperstown, PA; four grandchildren, Jason Clawson, Amanda Shelley, Kyle Eagleton, and Kasey Eagleton; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary Shelley and Isabella Clawson.
Besides her parents and husband, Flossie was preceded in death by her son, George Brian Eagleton.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 11:00 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers with Rev. Michael Zabel officiating. Interment will follow at the Poland Riverside Cemetery.
Friends will be received today from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
