March 16, 1922 — November 26, 2014

Boardman- A memorial service will be held Wednesday evening at 7:00PM Davis-Becker Funeral Home, Boardman for Joseph F. Bozzacco who passed away November 26, 2014 at his residence. Joe was born in Youngstown to Angelo and Andonia Bozzacco.

He was very active in many golf and bowling leagues in the valley, but his first love was fishing. He went to Canada many years, and took lots of bass out of a ranch pond in Kansas and Oklahoma.
Joe spent 4 ½ years in the service in WWII. He fought forest fires in Oregon and Washington, guarded barrage balloons on the California Coast, then guarded German prisoners of war at a prisoner of war camp in Alva, Oklahoma. This was known as the Alcatraz of prisoner of war camps, holding over 5,000 true Nazis. It was there he met Erl Lene Cline, his future wife who was employed by the US Army as a payroll clerk. They were married Sept. 5, 1945 and came back to his home when he was discharged.
He worked for Isaly Dairy, flavoring all ice cream, until they closed. He went to Superior Dairy, where he was their warehouse control man.

He leaves behind his wife and many loving and caring nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received Wednesday from 6-7PM at the funeral home.

Besides his parents, Joe was preceded in death by three brothers, Mike, Tony, and Steve; four sisters, Rose, Louise, Catherine, and Virginia.
