Lowellville - Joseph C. Retort, 65, died on Thursday, November 19, 2015. He was born May 3, 1950 in Youngstown, son of the late Patsy and Helen Sheevetz Retort.
He was a 1968 graduate of Lowellville High School and was owner/operator of Lowellville Diesel and Industrial Repair. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and drag racing and constructed engines for race cars.
He leaves his three sons, Joseph Retort of Columbus, Jeremiah Retort of Fuquay Varina, NC and Jesse (Shawnee) Retort of Coitsville; his daughter, Jenna Retort of New Haven, CT; four grandchildren, Liam, Zee, Kat and Cam and two brothers, Patsy and Peter Retort; three sisters, Patricia Loberto, Helen Patterson and Anna Retort.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Retort.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10am at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 244 McGill St. Lowellville. Interment will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 5-7pm and prior to the service from 9-9:45am at the funeral home.
