Maureen Eisenbraun

Boardman - Maureen Eisenbraun, 90, died early Wednesday morning, September 30, 2015, at her home surrounded by family.

Maureen was born on December 14, 1924 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Edward and Mary McCarthy Vahey.

Raised in Youngstown, Maureen was a 1941 graduate of The Rayen School. During World War II, she worked as an operator for St. Elizabeth Hospital and also for Sears in the billing office. After the war, she became a full-time homemaker, dedicating her time to raising her seven children.

She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church, where she was a past member of its Altar and Rosary Society. Maureen was also a former member of the Navy Mothers.

Her husband, Jack B. Eisenbraun, whom she married January 19, 1944, preceded her in death on January 19, 2009. Maureen is survived by her six children, Carol (Bill) Bonte of Boardman, Michael (Nancy) Eisenbraun of Portland, TN, Christopher (Leslie) Eisenbraun of Columbiana, Jenny (Scott) Kennedy of Canfield, T.J. (Lori) Eisenbraun of Boardman, and Mark (Teri) Eisenbraun of Poland; sister, Jean Kenney of Boardman; brother, Raymond Vahey of Milwaukee; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry Eisenbraun, who died at the age of 20 while serving in Vietnam; brother, Edward Vahey; and nephew, Patrick Kenney.

Per Maureen's request, there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be announced and celebrated at a later date.

The family would like to express their appreciation and thank Maureen's devoted caregivers for their wonderful and compassionate care they showed her.
