Boardman - Nancy L. Harshe, 74, died Wednesday evening, April 16, 2014 at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman, surrounded by family.

Mrs. Harshe was born September 9, 1939 in Louisa, KY, a daughter of Drew and Maxie Chapman Parson.

She was a 1956 graduate of Louisa High School. After graduation, she moved to Lima, Ohio and attended the Northwest Business College. Mrs. Harshe worked the majority of her career as a secretary. She first worked for CSS Publishing for over 10 years and retired from Lima City Schools, where she was the secretary for over 20 years to the school's psychologist. Nancy and her husband, Bob, moved from Lima to Boardman eight years ago after retiring.

In her free time, Nancy enjoyed recreational walking, baking, and in her later years picked up the hobby of cross-stitching.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Robert C. Harshe, whom she married December 23, 1961; daughter, Cyndi (Bill) Johnson of Boardman; son, Steve (Lourdes) Harshe of Huntington Beach, CA; two sisters, Rose Lucas of NC and Sharon (Tom) Treat of CA; five brothers, Bill (Helen) Parson, George (Wilma) Parson, Garry (Linda) Parson, Johnny (Janice) Parson, all of NC, and Jerome (Jerri) Parson of SC; five grandchildren, Cassandra, Zachary, and Nicholas Johnson, and Jacinta and Isabel Harshe.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy, Philip, and Kenneth Parson.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

The family requests that memorial gifts take the form of contributions in Mrs. Harshe's name to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, Ohio 44512.
