BOARDMAN Neil Baldelli, 80, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, March 13, 2015.
He was born Sept. 15, 1934, to Nello and Carmella (Colangelo) Baldelli.
A 1952 graduate of East High School, he had a passion for photography, first learning the craft while serving his country as a U.S. Marine from 1953 to 1955. He earned the prestigious Master and Craftsman of Photography designation, and he was a member of the Ohio Society of Photography and the Professional Photographers of America organizations.
Jean (Kovalcik), his wife of 54 years, was the love of his life. In addition to the photography business they built together, Neil and Jean cherished winters in Florida, frequent trips to the casino and traveling the world.
They enjoyed Myrtle Beach vacations and holiday gatherings with the family.
Neil treasured his seven grandchildren: watching them grow up, competing at their sporting events and swimming in the backyard pool every summer. He also enjoyed gardening, golfing, bocce and hanging out with his lifelong best friends, belonging to both the ARCO Club and the MACO Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Neil of Youngstown; two daughters; Lisa (David) Stuart and Allison (Josh) Jenkins, both of Solon; grandchildren Valerie and Maria Baldelli, Cameron, Cory and Callie Stuart, and Jessica and Josh Jenkins Jr.; and great-granddaughter Emma Rae Patsko.
He also leaves a brother, Ray (Sally); sister Anne (Manuel) Garcia; sisters-in-law Eleanor (Skip) Miller and Jan (Mike) Giba; and many special nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Davis-Becker Funeral
Home, 8536 Market St. in Boardman.
