Roberta Renninger

August 11, 1951 — August 1, 2015

Lowellville - Roberta Renninger, 63, died Saturday afternoon, August 1, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her family, after a three year illness.

Mrs. Renninger was born August 11, 1951 in Youngstown, a daughter of Robert and Dolores Steele Norberg.

She was a 1969 graduate of Lowellville High School. At the time of her marriage, Roberta was working for General Electric at their lamp plant as an inspector. Upon the birth of her daughter, she became a dedicated mother and homemaker. She began working again once her daughter entered school, first for Busy Beaver, then Stambaugh Thompson in the special orders department, and most recently for Home Depot in Boardman as an install coordinator.

She was a member of Holy Family Parish in Poland, a member of its Third Source Committee, where she served as the committee's treasurer, and also helped clean the church. She was also a member of the Poland Lions Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 247, serving as the auxiliary's past secretary. She enjoyed bowling in her free time and was a longtime member of the women's bowling league at the Holiday Bowl, where she served as the league's secretary. Roberta also volunteered at the Lowellville car shows. Roberta enjoyed collecting antique tea pots, her swimming pool, and spending time with her family. She will always be remembered as a woman with a big-heart who was always willing to help anyone who needed it.

She is survived by her husband Robert Renninger, whom she married June 25, 1973; one daughter, Michelle Shorter of Poland; four sisters, Darlene Norberg, Peggy Norberg, and Diane Norberg, all of Lowellville, and Tammy Norberg of Youngstown; two brothers, Robert (Elizabeth) Norberg of Lowellville and Donald (Pat) Norberg of Columbiana; three grandchildren, Tierra Brown, Kaitlyn Shorter, and Nicholas Shorter, all of Poland; a brother-in-law, Mark Barone of Lowellville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by two sisters, Debbie Norberg and Jackie Barone; and an infant brother, Jerry Norberg.

A prayer service will be held Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 244 McGill St., Lowellville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Parish with Msgr. William Connell officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
