Thomas "Fuzzy" Sheely

New Springfield - Thomas E. Sheely, 56, died Monday morning, August 25, 2014 at the Hospice House after a brief battle with cancer.
Thomas, affectionately known by many as "Fuzzy," was born September 4, 1957 in Youngstown, a son of Walter and Ida Morlan Sheely.
Tom attended Petersburg High School and worked as a heavy equipment operator. Throughout his career, he worked for various area construction companies and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 66.
Tom loved nature and enjoyed spending his free time outside. He fondly remembered family trips to their cabin in Marienville, PA when he was younger. Tom also enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie, Conneaut, and in Ashtabula for walleye and perch, working on cars, and lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
Tom was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Petersburg and a former member of the Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department.
He leaves his wife, the former Julie A. St. Clair, whom he married December 4, 1999; two sons, Cory (Kelly) Husted of North Lima and Thomas Sheely at home; daughter, Savannah Sheely at home; sister, Marcia Delvaux of Lisbon; three brothers, Walter "Chip" (Terri) Sheely of North Jackson, Richard Sheely of Poland, and Dennis (Mary) Sheely of New Springfield.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Lucinda Sheely and brother, Donald "Ugg" Sheely.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 14394 Youngstown Pittsburgh Rd., Petersburg. Interment will follow at Petersburg Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.
