Coitsville- Patsy Pilorusso, 93, died June 5, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Patsy was born July 18, 1924 in Italy, a son of Peter and Anna (Masullo) Pilorusso and came to the Youngstown area as a child. He lived most of his life in Liberty until moving five years ago to Coitsville to be close to family.
In 1947, he founded Pilorusso Construction, which erected structural steel for commercial buildings and bridges throughout Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. He expanded the business in 1983 when he built his own 5,000 square-foot fabricating facility and offices in Coitsville Township, marking his start as a metal fabricator for the steel and primary aluminum industries. The fabrication business continued to grown and the facility was doubled in size in 1988. In 1989, Mr. Pilorusso semi-retired and new managing partners were brought on board and the company was incorporated as Lyco Manufacturing. It further went through several expansions and operated out of a 26,000 square-feet facility, before its closing in 2016. Mr. Pilorusso was also one of the founding partners of Advanced Recycling Systems.
Mr. Pilorusso was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Wick Lodge No. 481 F. & A.M. and also a member of the American Welding Society and Civil Air Patrol.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Lucy Pilorusso of Coitsville; nephew, Bill Pilorusso of Coitsville; niece, Annie Mihaly of Coitsville; two great nephews, Alex and Dom Pilorusso; and four great nieces, Annie (Chuck) Butch, Amy (Matthew) Pickens, Amanda (Nathan) Al-Halalmeh, and Alice Mihaly.
In addition to his parents, Patsy was preceded in death by his brother, Alex Pilorusso.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers. There will be no services.
