Gladys Lucille "Lou" Dew, 86

Poland - Gladys Lucille "Lou" Dew, 86, passed away suddenly, early Tuesday morning on July 27, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, from complications related to pulmonary emboli
in both lungs.

Lucille was born May 20, 1935 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Clarence and Florence (Schoonover) Lealand. She was raised in Struthers, where she graduated in 1953,
remaining close to her classmates, as the organizer of several class reunion events over the ensuing 68 years.

A lifelong area resident, Lucille drove school bus for 25 years for Poland schools, retiring in 2000. She was also well known in the area for her seamstress skills, making thousands of
alterations for scores of people during her lifetime. Up until the day of her passing, it was a rare occasion for her not to be working on several sewing projects simultaneously, for a
variety of people.

Lucille was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who was always willing to lend her time and talents to support whoever needed it. She truly enjoyed spending
time with family and friends, and especially loved to travel with, or visit, them.

One of Lucille’s favorite pastime activities was spending time at a casino. Wherever her travels took her, if there was a casino nearby or somewhere along the way, she was sure to find
her way there, and drop a dollar or two in the slot machines.

A relative, friend, and acquaintance to so many, Lucille had a bright smile and a lively personality, and always made time for a friendly (and lengthy) conversation.

To those closest to her, “Lou Dew”-as she was best known-was “a force of nature” who blew into our lives with loving fury, lingered for a time, and then, on July 27, blew out again, just
as suddenly as she had arrived. And though she will be greatly missed by her bodily absence, the time that she gave and the love that she showed her family and friends has forever been
imprinted, not only on each of them, but on the timeless page of eternity-from which it can never be erased.

Lucille is survived by three children, Pamela J. (Ron) Moseley of Spring Hill, FL, Brian K. (Kristin) Dew of Canfield, and Beth L. Dodd of Warrenton, VA; two granddaughters, Nicole
Anderson of Niles and Emily Dew of Canfield; three great-grandchildren, Hailey, Harrison, and Hudson; her boyfriend of more than 35 years, Paul Lenhart of Poland; a brother, George
Lealand of Youngstown; and two sisters, Doris Lowe and Patty Wagner, both of Youngstown.

In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her eldest son, Rick A. Dew; and her sister, Mona Lou Boland.

Because both of Lucille’s daughters live out of state, a memorial gathering for family and friends will be postponed until their individual schedules allow them to coordinate travel back
to the area. When memorial arrangements have been made, the time and date will be announced.

Arrangements will be handled by Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market Street in Boardman.
