Hazel V. Nock

Lowellville - Hazel V. Nock, 98, formerly of Bedford Road in Lowellville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Maplecrest Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family. 

Hazel was born July 4, 1926 in Lowellville, OH, a daughter of the late Frank and Viola (Minteer) Conti.

She graduated from Lowellville High School and was a lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley. 

Hazel was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lowellville and the Altar & Rosary Society. She was also a former member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Lowellville.

She was devoted to her faith, as well as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother She enjoyed spending time with her family. 

Hazel is survived by eight children, Robert W. (Jean) Nock of Lowellville, OH, Frank (Julie) Nock of Campbell, OH, Barbara Wolfe of Poland, John Nock of San Jose, CA, Nancy (Bob) Cunning of Houston TX, Becky Bittner of Ravenna, OH, Suzanne Nock of San Jose, CA, and William Nock of Reno, NV; a son-in-law, Bob Patton of Parrish, FL; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren. 

Besides her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, William R. Nock, whom she married on December 22, 1947 and died February 1, 2018; two daughters, Rosanne Pastore and Jean Patton; grandson, Bobby Zelinka; a brother, Frank (Bertha) Conti; three sisters, Julie (Al) Bartholomew, Ruth (Mike) Nemet, Lucille (Ed) Rivalsky; and son-in-law, Lou Pastore.

Family and friends may call on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 244 McGill Street in Lowellville. There will be a prayer service on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 131 E. Wood Street in Lowellville with Fr. Zachary Coulter officiating.
