Janet K. DeLucia

Lakewood - Janet K. DeLucia, 80, passed away on February 6, 2024 at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland. 

She was born July 1, 1943 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John and Doris (Arp) DeLucia Burns. She graduated from Lowellville High School, then graduated from Muskingum University in 1965 with a Bachelor's in Education. She then earned her Master's from Kent State University and went on to teach Culinary Arts at North Olmstead, Polaris, and Cuyahoga Community College.

She had a lifelong love of jazz music, the Cleveland culinary scene, travel, her friends, and her family. 

She is survived by her nephew, John (Samantha) DeLucia; nieces, Dawn DeLucia and Heather (Albert Durbin) Moran; and many lifelong friends from Muskingum University, the Cleveland culinary community, and the Cleveland jazz community. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, James Burns; and her brother, John "Jack" E. DeLucia.

Per Janet's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. She will be cremated and laid to rest with her parents at Lowellville Cemetery.
