Mathew John Savon, IV

Austintown - Mathew John Savon, IV, 63, of Austintown, died unexpectedly on June 23, 2024 at his home.

Born October 14, 1960 in Lowellville, he was a son of the late Mathew and Rowene (Holes) Savon.

Mathew was a 1979 graduate of Lowellville High School. He worked for over 30 years at Otis Elevator as an elevator mechanic. He was a Local 45 IUEC member and a trustee of the Executive Board. A devout catholic at heart, he was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a member of the Mount Carmel Society.

Leaving behind to cherish his memory is his wife, the former Kelly Morrow; his two sons, Mathew (Madison) Savon V of Boardman and Mark Savon of Austintown; Granddaughter, Ellie Savon; Grandson, Mathew Savon, VI; sisters, Deanna Savon, Marlene (Tom) Votta, Lisa Felleti, Christina (Chas) Kunovich, Lynda Savon and Tara Savon; brothers, Jason Savon, John (Abby) Savon; his stepmother Pat Savon, his Uncle Sam, Mark Cerimele and Raphe Neapolitan, who were both like sons to him; as well as his in-laws, many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

He had a vast knowledge of countless subjects and loved sharing it with others. He loved singing along to the oldies, cooking for his family, playing video games and spending time with his extended family.

He will always be remembered as a loyal friend who would do anything for anyone, a man with a heart made of pure gold, and most importantly a family man who dedicated his every breath to his children and grandchildren. 

Calling hours will be held at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home ,244 McGill St, Lowellville, OH 44436 on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. where a funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m.

Interment will take place privately at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Lowellville.
