Poland - Michelle D. LaLama, 57, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by family. 

Michelle was born March 25, 1966 in Youngstown, OH, a daughter of the late David and Rose (Schemetti) Ziegler.

A lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley, Michelle was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Class of 1984. While still in high school, Michelle began working at St. Elizabeth Hospital in the Nutrition Department and later worked for a cleaning agency. She also worked in the deli at Sparkle on South Avenue and most recently for Lariccia's Italian Marketplace for many years. 

Michelle was a longtime member of St. Dominic Catholic Church. Very artistic, Michelle enjoyed painting ceramics and statues. Some of her other favorite pastimes included playing Scrabble and board games, gardening, tending to her beautiful flowers, and cooking for her family. Michelle's quiet nature was easy to love and her strong-will admired. She will be forever remembered and missed by many. 

Michelle leaves to carry on her memory, her husband of 31 years, Nino LaLama, whom she married August 13, 1992; son, Robert (Brianne) Tolley of Seven Hills, OH; brother, David Ziegler, Jr. of Poland; sisters, Roberta Ziegler and her daughter, Jamie Byrd, both of Ft. Myers, FL, Donna (Kate) Marino of Springfield Twp., OH, and Ann Marino of Youngstown and her daughter, Laura Pahel of Cleveland; stepchildren, Phillip LaLama of Boardman, OH, William (Jennifer) LaLama of Cummings, GA, and Kathy LaLama of Boardman, OH; and stepgrandchild, Jackson LaLama.

A graveside service will be held for family and friends on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 410 W. South Range Rd., North Lima, OH 44452. There will be no calling hours.
