Norma was born December 26, 1931 in North Jackson, a daughter of the late James and Marian Akins Jones.
Norma married her husband, Donald Friedrich, on April 10, 1954. Together, they shared 61 years of marriage until his death on April 15, 2015.
Upon graduating from Jackson Milton High School, she was employed as a secretary at Home Savings and Loan. After raising her children, she became a realtor and was associated with Century 21 Real Estate. She was a member of the Youngstown-Columbiana Board of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors.
Norma was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder, deacon, and member of the Women's Association.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons, Don (Amy) Friedrich and Bruce (Sue) Friedrich; her sister, Dorothy Hively Henry; five grandchildren, Holly (Mike) Milkovich, Bruce (Leann) Friedrich, Emily (John) Sagle, Amanda (Mike) Kelley, and Tim (Allison) Friedrich; and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Norma was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Cook.
A private graveside service was held for the family at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Boardman.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Aventura at Assumption Village for the compassionate care provided to Norma.
