Paul T. Gucwa

Struthers - Paul T. Gucwa, 65, passed away on April 1, 2024, after a brief illness. 

Paul was born on January 1, 1959 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of Thaddeus and Helen Kostecki Gucwa.

Paul was a 1977 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and earned an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering from Youngstown State University. He was employed by Youngstown State University for 27 years in the Facilities/Maintenance Department.

Paul's hobbies included geocaching and wine making, and he was known for his sangria. An avid Pittsburgh fan, he enjoyed rooting for the Steelers, the Penguins, and the Pirates. Additionally, he rooted for Notre Dame and enjoyed going to games with his best friend, Tom. Paul was a member of St. Angela Merici Church (formerly Sacred Heart) and the Sulmona Valley Club, serving as the club's treasurer for over 10 years. 

Paul leaves his wife of nearly 39 years, the former Eva Petrella, and sister-in-law, Yvonne Petrella. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Judith, and his father in-law and mother-in-law, Dominic and Phyllis Petrella. He also leaves his siblings, Leonard, Sylvia, and Carol. 

A private Memorial Mass was held at St. Angela Merici Church. There will be no calling hours.
