Robert Loy McKee, 72 Boardman-Robert Loy McKee, 72, of 144 Runnemeade Dr. died Wednesday evening at St. Elizabeth Boardman Campus after an extended illness. He was born April 13, 1930 in Nemencolon Borough, Green County, PA, a son of the late Michael and Edna Grace Irwin Slinkish-McKee. He attended Stow High School in McKees Rocks, PA. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran serving with the 2nd Combat Unit stationed at Camp Le Jeune, NC. After his discharge from the Marine Corps, he attended both The Ohio State University and Youngstown State University studying law enforcement. He moved to the area in 1950 where he worked for Lyons Transportation Company. In 1968, he joined the Boardman Township Police Department. He retired in 1990 as a patrolman and was one of the first three officers to retire from the Boardman Township Police Department. A member of Poland Lodge #766 F & AM, charter member of the Boardman FOP Lodge #43, member of the Boardman American Legion Post #0565 and past president and life member of the Crime Clinic of Greater Youngstown and the Romeo Club. He was an avid reader, model builder and enjoyed his grandchildren. Besides his wife, the former Margaret L. âa�A"Maggieâa�A� Orlando, whom he married December 19, 1985, he leaves three daughters, Jacquelin Campy of Boardman, Gayle (Robert) Barnett of Austintown, Jill (Gordon) Vaughn of North Lima, a son David of Boardman, three step-daughters Staci (David) Burns of Strongsville, Gina (James) Calpin of Boardman, Leah (David) Vestal of Imperial, PA, a brother Michael Dean of McKees Rocks, PA, ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret L. Klenner and a daughter Cathy as an infant. A funeral service will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. Memorial contributions in Mr. McKeeâa�a��s honor may be made to Poland Lodge #766 F & AM, P.O.
