Robert Lee "R.L." Stanley, 63 Youngstown- Robert Lee "R.L." Stanley, 63, of 2338 East Midlothian Blvd, died Wednesday morning at St. Elizabeth Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Stanley was born April 2, 1939, in Gordon County, GA, a son of John B. and Minnie Bagley Stanley. He grew up and lived most of his life in Georgia, finally moving to the area in the early 1990âa�a��s. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening roses and all sorts of flowers, and was known for his extensive gardens. He leaves his wife the former Hazel Patterson, whom he married October 3, 1958, his mother Minnie Curtner of Austintown; five daughters: Ruth L. Holifield of Ooltewah, TN; Tammy and her husband James Hughes of Struthers; Kimberley and her husband William Shook of Boardman; twin daughters: Tabitha Stanley and Teresa Guerriero both of Youngstown: two sons: John W. of Austintown; and Kevin L. of Campbell; six sisters: Nellie Meadows; Mamie Anderson both of Boardman; Bonnie Amrich of Youngstown; Kathy Perry of Canfield; Carol Patek of Austintown; and Shirley Plevniak of Liberty; five brothers: James of Effort, PA; Jimmy of Phoenix, AZ; Jerry of Youngstown; and Terry and Larry both of Austintown; 20 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren; He is preceded in death by his father John B. Stanley; 2 granddaughters: Hillary Shook; and Tiffanie Stanley. A funeral service will be held Monday, 1:00 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Friends may call at the funeral home, Sunday, from 5-8 PM, and again Monday, from 12:00 PM until 12: 45 PM.
