Columbiana -Roy C. (Bill) Eaton of Columbiana, OH, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 26, at Windsor House at Canfield. 
 
 Bill was born in Youngstown, OH, on July 1, 1934, the son of the late Irene B. Eaton and Roy C. Eaton, Sr. He graduated from John Marshall High School, in Rochester, NY, in 1952. He married the former Diane Tompkins on September 25, 1954, after attending Kent State University. 
 
He joined the family oil business, The Eaton Oil Company, in 1954, and was the owner and president from 1979 until 1985 when the company was sold and he retired. 
 
 Bill was a lifetime member of Sulgrave Masonic Lodge #696 since 1956. He was raised in the National Masonic Lodge in Alexandria, VA. He was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Scottish Rite Valley of Youngstown, a member of Al Koran Shrine, and the Youngstown Shrine Club, where he served on the Board of Directors. 
 
 He served on the executive committee of the first Soap Box Derby in Warren, OH, where he was also director of heats during race day. He was a committeeman for Boy Scout Troop #84, where his son was an Eagle Scout. He taught the first salesmanship merit badge class.


 He was a member of the board of the South Side Merchants and Civic Association and was president in 1972. He also served on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Youngstown, as well as on the board of directors for the Austintown Growth Foundation. He was a member of the Moose Club of Venice, FL, where he and Diane lived during the winter months. 
 
 Bill was an avid dog lover and was always in the company of between one and three dogs. He loved to hunt and was often accompanied by his wife of 66 years, Diane. 
 
 He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Diane; his sister, Charlotte Dziak; and his great-grandson, A.J Foster. 
 
 Bill is survived by his three children, Terry (Dennis) DiRienzo, Calcutta, OH, William (Terri) Eaton, Sarasota, FL, and Nancy Taylor (Scott Gill), Pulaski, PA; his grandchildren, Bob (Emily) DiRienzo, Gina (Steve) Hess, Dan (Taylor) DiRienzo, Leesha (Daniel) DiPalma, Grey Eaton, Scott (Ray) Foster, Tim (Crystal) Foster, Andrew (Angie) Foster, Tyler (Emily) Doughty, Trevor Doughty, Angela (Max) Solow; great-grandchildren Angelo DiRienzo, Nora DiRienzo, Dean DiPalma, Cole DiPalma, Gavin Foster, Keegan Foster, Meah Foster, Gabby Foster, several nieces and nephews; and many loving and thoughtful friends. 
 
 The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley for their loving care and compassion during his final days. 
 
 A time of gathering will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, Boardman.
