Valentine R. Dercoli, 74 Struthers- Valentine R. Dercoli, 74, of 52 Grandview Avenue, died at St. Elizabeth Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Dercoli was born December 24, 1927 in Struthers a son of the late Pietro L. and Maria Vincenza Volpone Dâa�a��Ercole. He attended school in Struthers and was lifelong area resident. Mr. Dercoli worked for the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company, as a grinder in the Rod and Wire Department, retiring in 1977 after 35 years of service. He attended the Kingdom Hall Jehovahâa�a��s Witnesses in Canfield, and was a member of St. Anthonyâa�a��s Society in Struthers, and Elder Care. He enjoyed art and was very adept at sketching, drawing, and painting both in oil and watercolors. He also played the trumpet and, enjoyed cooking, gardening, and making wine. He leaves his niece: Judi and her husband George Huggins of Struthers, with whom he made his home; a sister: Julia Zinger of Lowellville; a brother: John Dercoli of Austintown; a great niece: Kathleen Huggins of Pittsburgh; three great nephews: Timothy Huggins of Edgewater, FL; Richard Huggins of Poland and Anthony Huggins of Struthers; and a great great niece: Emily Huggins; and a great great nephew Nicholas Huggins; and several other nieces and nephews. Mr. Dercoli is preceded in death by a sister: Mary McIlwraith; and four brothers: Joseph, Tony; Eugene; and James. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2PM, at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1- 1:45 PM prior to the service.
