Robert Osiniak

November 2, 1932 — December 28, 2020

Struthers - Robert Osiniak Sr., 88, of Struthers, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, December 28, 2020 at St. Elizabeth’s Boardman Hospital.

Robert, known lovingly as Bob, was born November 2, 1932 in Youngstown, a son of Chester and Susan Marcincak Osiniak.

He was born and raised in Lansingville and graduated in 1950 from Woodrow Wilson High School. He was a proud veteran who served the US Army in the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. Bob worked for Republic Steel Corporation and was a member of the Bricklayer Local Union No. 8. He retired in 1997 from General Motors in Lordstown after dedicating 30 years of hard work.

Bob played on several softball, bowling, and golf leagues throughout his lifetime. His hobbies included watching his Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers and spending time with his family, who he loved dearly. He also enjoyed attending the high school football games of the Struthers Wildcats and cherished his family beach vacations and cruises. Bob was a devoted member of the Faith Community Covenant Church in Youngstown, where he was as an usher for several years and served roles on a variety of committees. He never missed a Sunday service.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor (Fecko), whom he married April 22, 1957. Together they shared their love and laughter for nearly 60 years. Together they had four children, Bob (Kathy) Osiniak of Melbourne, FL., Randy (Andrea) Osiniak of Boardman, Ron (Lisa) Osiniak of Campbell, and Cheryl (Tim) Roddy of Struthers. Left to treasure his memories are his grandchildren, to whom were his world; Tim Roddy and Allie Roddy, Kristen Osiniak and Matt (Abby) Osiniak, Ryan Osiniak, and Carli Osiniak. He also leaves many special nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom he adored as well as many lifelong friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Don and June Osiniak.

Private services celebrating Bob’s life were held Saturday January 2, 2021 at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland with the Rev. Dr. George Lee officiating. Interment followed the services at Lake Park Cemetery.

The Osiniak family wishes to express their most sincere appreciation for the acts of kindness and prayers during their time of sorrow.
