Struthers, Ohio - Russell E. Hoback, 70, died August 9, 2023, at Addison Healthcare Center in Masury, Ohio.

Russell was born March 1, 1953 in Sioux City, Iowa, a son of the late Leonard and Evelyn Martin Hoback.

Russell was raised in Greenup, Illinois and lived the majority of his life there. In his later years, he relocated to Ohio to be near his brother and caretaker, Jack. In his free time, Russell enjoyed fishing, watching movies, especially his favorite movie Hook, and he loved anything Elvis.

Russell is survived by his brothers, Gerald "Jack" (Christine) Hoback, Merle (Mary Ann) Hoback, David Hoback, and Allen Hoback; sisters, Gerry Foster, Mary Nyreen, and Evelyn Creech; and a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his siblings, Edith Crum and Leo Hoback.

There will be a private celebration of life held for the family in September. Burial will be at the Greenup Cemetery in Illinois.
